Our Fishing Experience

Today my brother came to see us, so we thought it would be fun to take him to a nearby lake for a little fishing/sightseeing.  We were  supposed to leave around 3:15 after the kids got in from school...

We left at 4:15.  That doesn't sound too bad right?    We stopped by a local store to get our license, but we weren't able to buy them at that store today.  We decided to go on to the lake and let the kids fish since they were way too excited to be let down.  We get to the lake unpack the car and realized the worms were sitting in the fridge at home.  Instead of digging around the whole lake for worms I went back to the little store to purchase worms.  I got to the store and couldn't find my wallet (by this time it was quite comical).  Have you ever been to a store and realized at the checkout that you had to buy a certain amount to use a credit card?  That was me this afternoon so I looked around quickly and picked up something we didn't even need just to buy night crawlers.

Finally we are all at the lake enjoying a wonderful time watching the kids fish...

Lexi lasted 5 minutes before she started yelling, "ooh, ooh, I don't like worms."  She then let Garrett take over her fishing pole.  You can only guess what she would rather be doing...

Eating :)

Even with all of our mishaps we had a wonderful time.

Last night after church we came home to this view.  I am still in awe of the beauty surrounding us.  I love the mountains!

I hope everyone has a great week.  Already God is doing some amazing things in my life through our prayer and fasting week.  I cannot wait to see what He has in store for our church, and community!  Let's wear our knees out this week!

  1. Valerie,

I missed the msg Sunday since Noah was sick... Do we record the msgs at Mt. Carmel? If not, we should in the future! Pastor Mark is annointed! ;-)

  3. Heeh, that first picture looks so cute! Your story about forgetting everything is crazy. Haha! But that completed the great time that you had with your brother. Also, Lexi is hilarious! Eating cookies is definitely better than fishing, LOL!

  4. Haha! Nice! The kids really looked happy with their little fishing experience! And I agree with Simone. The first photo is sooo cute! The baby found a perfect spot to watch your other kids fish, and her stroller was aligned with the folding chairs. Well, it is a great place to relax after a long day of fishing, right?

  5. It's not surprising to know that a kid like Lexi doesn't like worms. Don't worry, she'll get used to it. Anyway, I'm glad that everyone enjoyed fishing at the lake. It's a real milestone to cherish. Bringing your brother to a nearby lake to go fishing was definitely a brilliant idea. :)
